Core GP hours
All GP practices in Bury are open from 8am until 6.30pm on normal working days. Contact your practice during these times, online, on the phone or by calling in to speak to a receptionist who can help with any queries you may have. Where needed, appointments may be offered on the phone, via secure message, via a video call or where needed face to face.
Extended GP hours and out of hours service
If you need support outside of these times then the extended working hours service provides access to some additional appointments, and the out of hours service provides urgent medical care out of hours. Please call your GP practice number for instructions of what to do.
If you have a medical problem and you’re not sure what to do, NHS 111 online (or on the phone – dial 111) will direct you to the most appropriate health service for your needs.
All practice teams have access to learning time initiatives which is protected time the practice can use to ensure all staff have time and space for continued development. These take place once a month between 1pm and 3.30pm. During this time calls may be handled by the out of hours provider.
