Join us and make a real difference to the healthcare of Bury. We believe as a clinically-led organisation, we have a real opportunity to tackle health inequalities whilst responding to health needs at a very local level.
Our vision is to continually improve Bury’s health and wellbeing by listening to our population and working together across boundaries. There is a system wide commitment across Bury to transform Health and Social Care. We recognise however that transforming Health and Social Care is a complex, contentious and emotive task. The scale of this challenge is immense, however it also presents an opportunity to reconfigure the entire system to deliver better outcomes for our population in a more effective, efficient and sustainable way. Strong leadership will be required to enable this to take shape whilst also ensuring the CCG delivers against its statutory duties.
NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced secondary care clinician to join the Governing Body and bring specific expertise and experience to the work of the CCG.
Clinical leadership is at the heart of the CCG and the Secondary Care Clinician will ensure that an external medical perspective and an understanding of the secondary care setting are brought to the CCG’s approach to commissioning.
The Secondary Care Clinician plays a key role on the Governing Body, bringing a broader view on health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG. In particular, the role will bring to the Governing Body an understanding of patient care in the secondary care setting and inform discussions about service re-design, clinical pathways and system reform. The post holder will have broad professional networks, an understanding of whole system working and a track record of making a positive impact and the successful applicant will need to have extensive current or recent experience as a secondary care doctor and in a wider leadership capacity.
In order to avoid conflicts of interest, and in accordance with legislation, applications will only be considered from individuals who do not have their main clinical practice or working in an organisation which is a significant provider of clinical services to NHS Bury CCG.
